Biddy Picard

Biddy Picard (1922 - 2019)

Born in Derbyshire, acclaimed artist Biddy Picard trained at the Slade during the 2nd World War where her contemporaries included the Welsh artist Kyffin Williams. Subsequently she lived in North Wales for a short period before settling in West Cornwall in the late 1940s, having arrived by sea in a French crabber.  Biddy Picard was a longstanding member of the Newlyn Society and her paintings which timelessly capture the essence of coastal Cornwall and influenced many other artists are widely collected in both the UK and Europe.
